When I try to explain my mission, some people immediately take offense, feeling as if I am trying to change their faith, but I am not. However, I am boldly saying, if part of your belief structure is love, peace, or harmony, then why deny those who practice the same belief of love, peace, and harmony, just in different detail? I do not deny that our predecessors have misrepresented many things that still resonate with us today. But that was the past, and WE can recreate the meaning of things, just as was done before. We don't need to continue cultivating the trauma our past has caused.
A shirt is a shirt, no matter the material it is made from or the color it displays. The differences of detail are to accommodate personal preferences, ego. We have that freedom to enjoy those details, and I 'm not saying we shouldn't, because we should. Different details help us to expand individual consciousness, but the attachment to those details, is what blinds us from the truth that we are all one, by creating separation.
The colors of the rainbow are different, but they fade into one another, there is no break between them. We are the same in that sense, but we create that break because choice is regulated by our current conscious position.
If God created everything, then God created different belief structures as well. Who are we to say that any one practice holds truth over another? They are all true because God created them. Just like languages, which one language is most efficient? Which language is the “true” language? Does it really matter? What matters most is that we find an efficient way to communicate, and you would think that depends on the most commonly used language wherever you may be.
In the U.S., though English is most common throughout the country, many immigrants still prefer to use their native languages. And in California, where Spanish is almost as common as English, many Americans prefer to speak English. So, you see, it is all just personal preference, there is NO “one truth” that can be found in a sea of many personal preferences. The ONLY “one truth” is that “WE ARE ALL ONE”. The ONLY practice of “truth” is the way of compassion, the way of unconditional love and self-sacrifice. It is the pursuit of embracing each other, by learning to see the functional similarities within our differences.
For the longest time, I've noticed an urge within me, a calling if you will, to simply love all people and respect the environment that we all call home. Of course, this hasn't been easy. I think in the beginning, we all love and trust openly, with no judgments. You know, when we were babies? Of course, that is until we begin developing how we were raised, what we were taught and what we observed as far as how we should conduct ourselves. Of course, there are also things we are born with that may have been developed throughout our ancestral development.
You see, life is a learning experience. We may feel, know, or learn something new, but there are responsibilities that come with any type of knowledge. Responsibilities are all about love and respect, and accountability is a big part of that. I think a lot of us forget that or just set the idea aside accepting "the way things are". What we don't realize, is that living in the truth that "we are one", seems difficult to achieve because we don't invest enough of ourselves in that idea. We don't work hard enough for it. Do we "really" want it? Nothing comes without sacrifice.
There is not enough compassion amongst people, not enough trust, not enough love, or respect. We can all see how the world is broken in this way, and we pretend that we are different, yet we are not. We are just trapped, living life by the details of what make us comfortable. Well comfort, is all you give to someone at the end of their life cycle. Struggle is a part of life, a part of living, struggle promotes growth. Like a seed sprouting within the earth, it pushes and pushes, until eventually breaking through the surface, and entering into a new stage of life. So, is it comfort we need to live, to grow, or are we just tired of living, tired of growing?
